April is Plank Month!

During the month of April we will be hosting a "Plank Challenge" for our members at DF. Here is how it works: 

Starting April 1st, you will hold a plank for 20 seconds, then every few days you will add more time seconds. By the end of the month you will work up to 300 seconds (5 minutes). Then on April 30th we will hold a "Last Man or Woman Planking" Contest - the person who can hold a Plank the longest will win a special prize! Make sure to pick up your Planking Time calendar from us at the front desk.

Are You Fit For Golf?

Golf is a game of very dynamic movements.  In order to consistently perform these movements your body has to function as efficiently as possible through each part of your golf swing.  Playing more golf and more years of golf is based on maintaining a healthy level of fitness.

What is a "Slosh Pipe?"

Since the announcement of our St. Patrick's Day "Get Sloshed with Defined Fitness" Slosh Pipe workout we've been getting asked: "What's a slosh pipe?"

A slosh pipe is a 4 inch PVC pipe that is 3/4 filled with water, the water then "sloshes" around inside requiring your core's stabilizer muscles to contract and work to keep your body upright and keep you from dropping it. In our workout you will get to experience first hand just how fun and challenging the slosh pipe can be by using it with squats, carries, and presses.

Afterwards be sure to hang around for a complimentary Guiness or two on the house!
